Arron Asham Suspended 4 Games For Cross-Check On Brayden Schenn

The NHL's Department of Player Safety issued a four-game suspension to the Pittsburgh Penguins' Arron Asham late Tuesday night. The suspension is punishment for a brutal cross-check by Asham to the throat of the Philadelphia Flyers' Brayden Schenn in the ugly first period of Game 3 on Sunday. Asham was immediately tossed from the game. Shanahan provided a video elaborating on his reasoning for the four-game suspension:

Asham joins Craig Adams and James Neal as three Penguins who will be out for Game 4 because of disciplinary sanctions stemming from Game 3.
