The NHL has released the entire NHL schedule for the 2012-2013 season.
Schedule-makers typically try to avoid giving a team a particularly long homestand or road trip late in the season so as to avoid giving a team an advantage or disadvantage in the hunt for a playoffs spot. That's why, in the new 2012-13 NHL schedule released on Thursday morning, it's interesting to see that the Penguins have a homestand late in the season that features 10 of 12 games at home.
Following the streak of home games, the Penguins will finish their season with three consecutive road games against the Flyers, Lightning and Panthers. The Penguins will open their season at home against the New York Islanders on Friday, October 12.
The entire Penguins and NHL schedule can be seen on NHL.com; however, it is pending the negotiations for a new CBA between the NHL and NHLPA that could potentially feature a lockout in the stylings of the NFL and NBA's recent disputes.
