Joel Hanrahan To Be MLB Network Analyst

Pirates closer Joel Hanrahan will appear with Padres manager Bud Black as an analyst on the MLB Network on Monday and Tuesday. He'll be on MLB Tonight, which runs before and after playoff games.

This is a neat career move for Hanrahan, who seems like a cool guy. Between innings at Pirates games, the PNC Park scoreboard sometimes shows various players all responding to the same question. Hanrahan's answers are routinely the funniest. (There's one where the players are asked if they have "Bieber fever." Most of them just chuckle and then talk about how they're not interested in Justin Bieber, but Hanrahan, if I recall correctly, really hams it up, placing his hand on his forehead to check his temperature, before saying something like, 'No, I think I'm fine.')

Other guest analysts in October include Dallas Braden and Mark DeRosa.
