Pirates Vs. Cubs Score: Bucs Lead 2-0 In Fourth

The Pirates currently hold a 2-0 lead on the Chicago Cubs in the fourth inning. Carlos Zambrano walked two batters in the first inning, and Pedro Alvarez made him pay, whacking a pitch outside for an RBI single. Later, Jose Tabata had an infield single (with an assist from Zambrano when the ball struck his glove and deflected away from second baseman Jeff Baker), and Neil Walker drove him in with an RBI double.

Paul Maholm has been solid so far, demonstrating excellent command. Zambrano had a long double to center (which might have been an out if it hadn’t been for the wind pulling the ball from center into the gap in right), but other than that, the Cubs haven’t been able to muster much offense. Maholm just induced a double play grounder by Aramis Ramirez to finish the fourth.
