Top Pirates prospect Jameson Taillon will make his third professional start Sunday afternoon for the West Virginia Power against Augusta at 2:05 PM. Taillon, the second overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft, made his debut April 27 against Bryce Harper and Hagerstown, but the game was rained out after he pitched two innings. In his next start, on May 2 against Greensboro, he pitched four terrific frames, striking out six while allowing no runs and two hits.
↵Taillon is typically ranked as the best prospect in the Pirates' system, and he's one of the best high school pitching prospects to come out of the draft in years, or perhaps ever. At SB Nation Pittsburgh, we won't necessarily be covering every start he makes, but a slow news day seemed to provide a good excuse to point out that he's pitching. Here's the West Virginia Power's website, where you can follow along.
