After Andrew McCutchen was named to the National League roster on Saturday, the Pirates have their second All-Star added in as many days, as starting pitcher Kevin Correia has been named to the squad as well, according to the Pirates website. Correia will replace the Philadelphia Phillies' Cole Hamels, as he was next in line on the players' ballot. Hamels cannot pitch in the game, by rule, because he started on Sunday.
The selection gives the Pirates three all-stars for the first time since 1990. McCutchen and Correia join Joel Hanrahan, who was named to the original All-Star list last week.
The move was anticipated last night, when the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Biertempfel asked Correia about the prospects of joining his teammates in Phoenix.
