Brad Lincoln and the Pirates shut down the Cardinals Saturday afternoon, dominating the Redbirds 7-0.

Lincoln pitched six innings, allowing six hits while striking out four and walking one. He also helped his own cause by hitting an RBI double off Chris Carpenter in the fourth, and walking and scoring in the sixth. Dan McCutchen pitched two scoreless innings and Chris Resop one to complete the shutout.

Meanwhile, the Bucs scored on a Josh Harrison RBI single in the second, then piled up four runs in the fourth on a Garrett Jones RBI double, a two-run single by Harrison, and the aforementioned Lincoln double. Neil Walker hit a solo homer in the fifth.

Jones and Harrison each had two hits for the Pirates. Two of Jones' were doubles. The Cardinals had seven hits, and their only extra-base hit was a double by Rafael Furcal.
