Reds Vs. Pirates: Ryan Ludwick Hits Walk-Off Single As Pirates Win 70th

Ryan Ludwick's walk-off hit carried the Pirates to a 4-3 win Friday.

The Pirates won their 70th game of the season thanks to Ryan Ludwick's walk-off hit in the ninth against the Cincinnati Reds on Friday.

The Bucs got off to an early lead thanks to Garrett Jones' monster two-run homer in the second and Ryan Doumit's RBI double in the third.

The Reds scored runs in the fifth and sixth, however, then tied the game in the ninth when Joel Hanrahan hit Todd Frazier with the bases loaded.

In the bottom of the inning, Doumit grounded out, but Jason Jaramillo doubled. Chase D'Arnaud then pinch-ran, and Ludwick pinch-hit for Pedro Alvarez. Ludwick lifted a fly ball over the head of Drew Stubbs in center, and D'Arnaud came charging home.

Andrew McCutchen doubled and tripled in the game, and Doumit had two hits as well.
