Prince Fielder homered three times against the Pirates at Miller Park en route to a 6-4 victory Tuesday night.

Fielder homered in the third (on a nose-level pitch that was about a foot outside the strike zone) and fifth off Ross Ohlendorf, and in the seventh off rookie Jared Hughes. The Brewers also got a third-inning solo homer from Rickie Weeks.

The Pirates managed to keep pace for a while, with an RBI single by new catcher Matt Pagnozzi in the second and a pair of runs in the fifth. But they failed to capitalize on a big opportunity in the sixth, when Brewers starter Randy Wolf allowed a leadoff double to Neil Walker and proceeded to walk three batters in the inning. The Pirates only got one run.

After the final Fielder homer, the Pirates couldn't muster any offense against Francisco Rodriguez or John Axford, and the Brewers held their 6-4 lead.

The Pirates conclude their season with a final game against the Brewers at 8:10 PM Wednesday.
