Pirates Vs. Dodgers Score Update: Game Tied 1-1 After Three Innings Thanks To Clint Barmes Home Run

The Pittsburgh Pirates dropped their first game of their three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1 on Tuesday, but on Wednesday night were able to jump out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning thanks to a Clint Barmes home run. Barmes led off the inning and hit the first pitch of the inning by Chad Billingsley over the center field wall.

Erik Bedard has picked up two strikeouts through three innings agains the Dodgers, allowing three hits early on. Bedard was able to get A.J. Ellis to strikeout looking and got Chad Billingsley on a swinging strike to start the bottom of the third inning. Unfortunately for Bedard, he walked Mark Ellis and gave up a single to Matt Kemp, putting a runner in scoring position. Juan Rivera then singled to right field, plating Ellis and tying the game 1-1.

The Pirates offense has had a tough time with Billingsley early on in the game, having just one hit outside of Barmes homerun.
