The Pittsburgh Pirates have alternated wins and losses since an April 18 victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks. They travel to Busch Stadium to play the St. Louis Cardinals, the first of a three-game series against the defending World Series champions.

The Pirates will send pitcher Charlie Morton to the mound for his fourth start of the season. Morton's last start was against the Colorado Rockies on April 25. In that start, Morton earned his first win of the season, pitching seven innings and allowing only one run on six hits. He currently has a 1-1 record with a 2.65 ERA.

The Cardinals will send Adam Wainwright to the hill try and earn his first win of the season. Wainwright has started 0-3 with a 7.32 ERA this season, coming back from Tommy John surgery. However, in his last start against the Chicago Cubs on April 24, he pitched six innings and allowed only one run on six hits.

The game is scheduled for an 8:15 first pitch. Television coverage will be provided by ROOT Sports, while radio coverage will be provided by 93.7 The Fan.
