After a 5-4 homestand, punctuated with a 3-2 walkoff victory against the Astros on Sunday at PNC Park, the Pirates hit the road to begin a three-city roadtrip with their first visit to the Miami Marlins' brand-new Marlins Park on Monday.

Brad Lincoln will make a spot start for Pittsburgh in place of Erik Bedard, still recovering from back spasms that caused him to be removed in the second inning against the Nationals last Wednesday, though Bedard told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Bill Brink he's feeling better. He appears to remain on track to return on Wednesday, when manager Clint Hurdle said over the weekend he expects the lefty to start in Washington against the Nationals.

Anibal Sanchez will take the mound for Miami, fresh off an 8-4 triumph against the Mets on Sunday capped by a walkoff grand slam from outfielder Giancarlo Stanton. Sanchez is 2-0 an has posted a 2.01 ERA and 46 strikeouts against just 11 walks this season. Last time out against the Astros, he pitched seven innings and whiffed eight while giving up two unearned runs in a no-decision. He is 2-1 with a 1.64 ERA in the games against the Pirates in his career.

NOTES: The Pirates reinstated closer Joel Hanrahan from the bereavement list on Sunday ... In the corresponding roster move, the team placed relief pitcher Daniel McCutchen on the 15-day disabled list with a strained oblique muscle on his left side.
