The Pittsburgh Pirates dropped their first match up against the Baltimore Orioles in interleague play 8-6 on Tuesday, and the Bucs are once again in a hole mid-way through the game against the Orioles on Wednesday, down 3-0. The Orioles got on the board in the bottom of the first inning on a Chris Davis double.
Baltimore added two more runs in the very next inning thanks to a Wilson Betemit double that scored Mark Reynolds, followed up by a Steve Pearce single to bring Betemit home.
The Pirates bats continue to struggle to get solid contact with just four hits through four innings as Jake Arrieta has fanned six batters through three innings of work so far. Casey McGehee has been the only semblance of offense for the Bucs on the night with a hit in each at bat.
