Pirates Vs. Brewers: Bucs Aim To Stay Above .500 Against Shaun Marcum

With their 8-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers Friday night, the Pirates moved above .500, to 26-25. The Bucs will look to continue their winning ways as they continue their series against Milwaukee Saturday night (7:10 p.m.).

Erik Bedard takes the mound for the Pirates, against the Brewers' Shaun Marcum. Marcum is coming off a brilliant start against the Dodgers in which he allowed one run in seven innings and struck out nine. Unlike Friday night's Brewers starter, Randy Wolf, he's still a formidable opponent.

The Pirates have now won two straight, and the first of those came against the Reds' Johnny Cueto, a pitcher who had previously owned them. On Friday, they won at Miller Park, where they'd struggled to an almost comical degree in recent years. If the Bucs can keep winning there, that would be a boon, and it would show that this year's team isn't bound by what might have happened in the past.
