Pirates Vs. Reds: Brad Lincoln Faces Johnny Cueto In Second Game Of Series

The Pirates continue their surprising run at contention in the NL Central as they look for a second straight win over the Cincinnati Reds Wednesday night at 7:10.

The Pirates send Brad Lincoln, who’s replacing Charlie Morton, who was recently placed on the disabled list. Lincoln has been one of the Pirates’ most pleasant surprises this season, mostly pitching out of the bullpen and showing much better stuff than he had in the past. He has 26 strikeouts so far this year in 26 innings spread over 14 appearances, including one start.

The Reds’ starter will be ace Johnny Cueto, who the Pirates beat last week. Previously, Cueto had dominated the Bucs. Cueto has a career 2.55 ERA in 106 innings against the Pirates.

The Pirates are two games behind the Reds for first place in the N.L. Central. If they can sweep the series, they’ll be in first.
