Pirates Vs. Reds Score Update: Pittsburgh Down 5-0 Early

The Pittsburgh Pirates picked up an 8-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night, but find themselves in a 5-0 hole through the first five innings on Wednesday night. The Reds took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a Brandon Phillips solo home run.

The Reds poured on the runs in the fifth inning however, plating four players to push their lead to 5-0. Ryan Ludwick hit a double to left center, hitting in Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, and Todd Frazier. Ryan Hanigan hit in the fourth run of the inning, playing Ryan Ludwick to follow up his double.

The Pirates bats have struggled in the game trying to hit Johnny Cueto, getting just two hits through five innings and managed just three base runners. Starting pitcher for the PIrates, Brad Lincoln, lasted just four innings before being pulled.
