Omogrosso certainly enjoyed getting to be at Yankee Stadium for his first taste of the major leaguers.

"I grew up as a Yankees fan," Omogrosso said. "It's really ironic that I got called up when I did. To be able to wear a major-league uniform in Yankee Stadium is pretty awesome."

Well, boo for all that. But congratulations to the local kid for making it to the show, even if he's not a Pirates fan.

Omogrosso, 28, went to Indiana State and then was selected in the sixth round of the 2006 draft. He then began a slow crawl through the White Sox farm system, finally making it to Class AAA last year. This season, he struck out 40 batters and walked just six in 33.1 innings as a reliever at Charlotte.
