Pirates Trade Rumors: Padres May Not Deal Chase Headley, According To Report

San Diego Padres third baseman Chase Headley has been one of the most-rumored players to be on the move as the 2012 trade deadline approaches. However, a recent report from ESPN's Jerry Crasnick says that the Padres may not be trading him after all.

Pittsburgh Pirates General Manager Neal Huntington has commented on the high price that the Padres were asking for Headley, possibly hoping it would come down as the deadline approached. Headley could be a good fit for the Pirates, as he could possibly stabilize the team's sometimes inconsistent offense, although it's unclear where he'd fit in defensively.

Of course, there is still plenty of time between now and the deadline on Tuesday, so there could be a chance of a deal being hammered out.
