Just one night after the Cubs put nine runs on the board in one inning against the Bucs pitching staff, A.J. Burnett has rebounded in the second game of the series and is dealing a no-hitter through the first seven innings at Wrigley. Erik Bedard was hammered on Monday and Clint Hurdle needed Burnett to pick up the staff and go deep into the game on Tuesday.
Burnett has done just that, silencing the Chicago bats and striking out five in seven hitless innings. Burnett has thrown 80 pitches so far and looks to be in total control. He did issue two walks -- one in the fourth and one in the sixth. But Burnett has faced little trouble otherwise as he looks to make Pirates' history.
