After Drew Sutton's heroic walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth Tuesday night against the Houston Astros, the Pirates put themselves into a position to tie for the NL Central lead. They did indeed finish the night in first place, as the Cincinnati Reds lost 3-1 to the Dodgers in a West Coast game.
The Bucs and Reds are both 44-36, and the St. Louis Cardinals, who lost 3-2 to the Rockies on Tuesday, are 2.5 games back. Here are the full NL Central standings.

The Pirates are also just ahead of all the Wild Card teams. The Dodgers are 45-37, and the Mets are 44-37. The Nationals and Giants lead the NL East and NL West, respectively.
