2012 Home Run Derby: Andrew McCutchen Will Have High School Coach Pitch To Him

After Andrew McCutchen was named as GIancarlo Stanton's replacement for the 2012 Home Run Derby, the next step was finding someone to pitch to him in the contest.

McCutchen made a decision quickly, as he told reporters Sunday morning that his former high school coach, Jon Spradlin of Fort Meade High School will be the one who pitches to him Monday night in Kansas City. McCutchen said that he joked with Spradlin back when he played in Fort Meade that Spradlin would be his pitcher in the Home Run Derby if he ever got the chance, and now McCutchen is following through with his promise.

The Home Run Derby is scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday night at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City and will be televised on ESPN.
