2012 MLB Futures Game Final: U.S. Team Crushes World Team, 17-5

The U.S. Team in the 2012 MLB Futures Game was supposed to have the dominant pitchers. Instead, it was the batting that became the main attraction at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City on Saturday afternoon.

The U.S. Team cranked out 17 hits and scored as many runs in a game that saw 22 runs total put on the board.

Detroit Tigers prospect Nick Castellanos was named MVP of the game as he blasted a three-run homerun in the sixth inning which saw the U.S. squad put up nine runs total in the inning to put the game out of reach for the World squad.

Of the U.S. teams 17 hits, seven of those went for extra bases.
