Pirates vs. Brewers Lineups: A.J. Burnett Heads To Mound For Pittsburgh

After an extremely late start in Chicago last night, the Pittsburgh Pirates will put out a lineup closer resembling their everyday squad to face the Milwaukee Brewers in the opener of a three-game home set.

The Pirates' best starter ERA-wise, A.J. Burnett, will take the mound for the Pirates with the team needing wins as the end of the season nears closer and closer. The Bucs are tied with the Brewers 2.5 games back of the final NL Wild Card slot, and with just 16 games to make up that ground, every game is crucial.

Here's the lineup for the Pirates:

1. Starling Marte (R) LF
2. Jose Tabata (R) RF
3. Andrew McCutchen (R) CF
4. Garrett Jones (L) 1B
5. Neil Walker (S) 2B
6. Pedro Alvarez (L) 3B
7. Clint Barmes (R) SS
8. Rod Barajas (R) C
9. A.J. Burnett (R) P

Jones and Walker get the start after sitting out Monday night, with Walker taking over for Gaby Sanchez in the cleanup slot while Jones replaces Brock Holt, who hit eighth Monday. Both will be better suited to hit the righty Yovani Gallardo than the players they replace. Barajas takes over catching duties, understandable with such quick turnover between the Tuesday start and the finish of the previous night's game.

Here's the Brewers' lineup:

1. Norichika Aoki (L) RF
2. Rickie Weeks (R) 2B
3. Ryan Braun (R) LF
4. Aramis Ramirez (R) 3B
5. Jonathan Lucroy (R) C
6. Travis Ishikawa (L) 1B
7. Carlos Gomez (R) CF
8. Jean Segura (R) SS
9. Yovani Gallardo (R) P
