NFL Week 7 Power Rankings: Steelers Inch Toward Top With Win Over Browns

New, 1 comment

With the return of their star quarterback, the Steelers inched closer to the top of most outlets' power rankings this week.

After Ben Roethlisberger's return and a home win against the Browns, here's how the Steelers fared in the media's NFL Week 7 Power Rankings:

SBNation.com: No. 3 (last week: No. 4).

Ben Roethlisberger threw three TDs in his return to the field. It's hard to believe that this team actually got better in Week 6 with his return.

FOXSports.com: No. 1 (last week: No. 2).

I've seen saying for weeks that once Ben Roethlisberger was back behind center that they could go on a long winning streak. They weren't exactly dominant against the Browns, but the Steelers are healthy for a change on both sides of the ball.

FanHouse: No. 2 (Last week: No. 3).

Now that Ben Roethlisberger is back, the Steelers are much more dangerous. They still have the Saints, Patriots, and a trip to Baltimore on the schedule, so it won't be easy, but Pittsburgh can establish themselves as a contender.

Peter King / Sports Illustrated: No. 1:

There were some rough moments, and Roethlisberger threw a very poor early interception, but the way he spread it around (TD throws to Mike Wallace, Heath Miller and Hines Ward) and kept the running game going are great long-term signs for the Steelers.
