ESPN's James Walker ranks Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey second among AFC rookies, behind T.J. Ward of the Browns but ahead of Jermaine Gresham and Jordan Shipley of the Bengals and Colt McCoy and Joe Haden of the Browns. There are lots of Browns on this list, which is good for them, but is also probably partly a reflection of the amount of time Cleveland has to give rookies - if not for injuries to Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme, for example, McCoy wouldn't be on this list. And as per their usual, the Browns (5-11 last season) had the best draft position in the division. Anyway, here's the blurb on Pouncey:
↵↵Pouncey was impressive enough to earn the starting center job from Day 1. He helped bring a power running game back to Pittsburgh, which was vital in the team's 3-1 start without suspended quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Pouncey has had one poor game so far against the Baltimore Ravens and Pro Bowl defensive lineman Haloti Ngata. But Pouncey has been solid otherwise.
