The Steelers offense looked sloppy after a turnover and a three-and-out in their first two series. However, when Pittsburgh switched to their hurry-up offense, they began to move the chains. Their third drive ended in a 22-yard Jeff Reed field goal.
Rashard Mendenhall and Mewelde Moore both lined up wide, allowing quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to call run plays, as well as empty sets. Who knows if they'll keep this up throughout the game, but offensive coordinator Bruce Arians must think his unit will have an advantage if he puts some playcalling trust in Roethlisberger and attempt to minimize defensive substitutions.
