Dolphins Head Coach To Send Film Of Controversial Fumble

Am I a Steelers homer? Sure, though I try to remain as objective as possible at most times. Even still, I feel a smidge bad for the Miami Dolphins and their fanbase for the controversial ruling late in Sunday’s play that allowed the Steelers to retain possession of the ball and ultimately kick a game-winning field goal. Still, I don’t think Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano is using his time wisely by fixating on the call to begin this week. That’s exactly what Sparano is doing, as he’s sending a video of the play to league headquarters to hopefully get a better explanation as to why the Dolphins weren’t rewarded the ball after forcing a Ben Roethlsberger fumble inches shy of the goal line.

“I’ve sent the play to the league and you usually don’t get a response back on that for a couple of days I’m assuming because tonight (Monday night football) ends the week. So they’ll get back to you when they get back to you,” Sparano said. “I just want to hear an explanation again, that’s all. I don’t think it’s going to change. I mean I think the explanation that I got yesterday is the one that I’ll probably get.”

That’s right, the ruling is almost certainly not going to be overturned, so rather than harp on the unfortunate turn of events, I might suggest getting his team prepared for next week’s road game against the desperate Cincinnati Bengals.
