Week 9 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Isaac Redman

USA Today has a nice article on Steelers running back Isaac Redman. As every fantasy manager knows, Rashard Mendenhall is the Steelers’ top back, but if you own Mendenhall in a deep league and have an extra spot on your roster, Redman is worth a look as an insurance policy. If Mendenhall got hurt, Redman would become the Steelers’ primary running back, while Mewelde Moore’s role probably would not change much, and with the Steelers’ defense limiting the number of shootouts the team plays. While it wouldn’t quite be a Priest Holmes / Larry Johnson situation, Redman would suddenly become a valuable fantasy commodity in such a scenario. Also, Steelers fans love him, as he is quickly becoming not only a powerful runner but a versatile, aware player who can help out with blocking. Keep your eye on Redman going forward, as he is a great player to have on your watch list even in a shallower league.
