Fantasy Football Start Em Sit Em: Pittsburgh Steelers

For the Steelers’ game against the Jets this week, here’s who you should start and who you should keep on your bench. Whether or not to start Ben Roethlisberger depends on who else you have, but he isn’t a bad play, and he should do eventually start to pile up more touchdowns than he has the past few weeks. Running back Rashard Mendenhall is a clear start, and wide receiver Mike Wallace is too. Both have had quiet games recently, but that’s mostly because the Steelers haven’t scored a ton of touchdowns. They’re still productive players. I’m less sold on Hines Ward for this week, simply because he’s been so wildly inconsistent. If you’ve been attentive about combing the waiver wire, you can probably find someone better to start.

Don’t start tight end Heath Miller, who is listed as questionable for the game (with concussion symptoms) and hasn’t even been a great option this season when healthy. The Steelers’ defense is a clear start, even with Troy Polamalu on the shelf. And starting kicker Shaun Suisham, who has been terrific from long distance since the Steelers signed him a few weeks ago, is fine if you have him.
