The NFL playoff schedule is set. The Steelers won't be playing in the first week, but here's a sense of what to expect in advance of their first game against the Colts, Ravens or Chiefs at Heinz Field on Saturday, January 15 at 4:30 at Heinz Field (CBS).↵
The Jets will play the Colts on Saturday, January 8 at 8:00 PM (NBC). If the Colts win, they will be the Steelers' opponent the following week. If the Colts lose, the Steelers will play the winner of the Chiefs/Ravens matchup on Sunday, January 9 at 1:00 PM (CBS).↵
There are a couple ways to look at this. Of the remaining teams, the best possible first-round matchup for the Steelers would be the Chiefs. However, I wouldn't mind if the Steelers played the Colts, either, and anything that reduces the likelihood that the Steelers will face the Patriots in the AFC championship is a good thing, so it might be kind of interesting to see a Ravens/Patriots death match in the divisional round. The one opponent I don't particularly want the Steelers to face on the 15th is the Ravens, even though the Steelers are capable of beating them.↵
In the NFC, the Saints face the Seahawks on January 8 at 4:30 (NBC), and the Packers take on the Eagles on January 9 at 4:30 (FOX).
