Rashard Mendenhall was unavailable in the Steelers' victory over the Tennessee Titans as he continued to nurse a hamstring injury. According to Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Mendenhall will be available and is expected to start when the Steelers host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Mendenhall is also aware that he needs to be better, and that the production just hasn't been there yet this year.
"As a running back you have reads, you have plays and you slide and pick and find holes. When it works everybody loves it, when it doesn't it's bad," Mendenhall said. "We just keep everything in perspective."
Mendenhall only has 173 yards rushing this year, a far cry from the past two seasons when he was able to rush for 1,000 yards in each. Isaac Redman, who started his first career game last week, is expected to backup Mendenhall and contribute as the third down back.
