Jaguars Vs. Steelers: Mike Wallace Scores Touchdown, But Steelers Lose Doug Legursky To Injury

After scoring in their first possession on an eight-yard scamper to the right side by Rashard Mendenhall, the Steelers got the Jaguars to go three-and-out, with Brett Keisel sacking Blaine Gabbert on third and six.

The Steelers got a couple of quick first downs in their next possession, with Mendenhall starting the drive with a 12-yard run and Ben Roethlisberger passing to Hines Ward for 19 yards. The drive just ended with a 28-yard touchdown pass to Mike Wallace, as Ben Roethlisberger faked a handoff and then found a wide-open Wallace just past the goal line.

The Steelers lost another offensive lineman, Doug Legursky, on the drive, on what appeared to be an ankle injury. Trai Essex took his place. The Steelers have been ravaged by injuries to their offensive line and can scarcely afford to lose another. There’s some speculation on Twitter that it might be a torn Achilles, but that’s just speculation – we’ll have to see. The Steelers have a comfortable two-touchdown lead against the Jaguars right now, but yet another offensive line injury is bad news.
