Jaguars Vs. Steelers: Pittsburgh Takes 17-3 Lead At Halftime

The Steelers took a 17-3 lead over the Jacksonville Jaguars as the teams headed to the locker room at halftime at Heinz Field. For Steelers fans, the first half was highlighted by big plays from Rashard Mendenhall and Mike Wallace. Mendenhall has struggled recently, after suffering a hamstring injury in Houston two weeks ago.

Today, however, he has had a break out first half, with 113 yards on 12 carries. A large chunk of that came on a dynamic 68 yard run down the left sideline which set up the Steelers last field goal. Mendenhall also punched in the Steelers first TD of the day. The second TD came on a 28 yard pass from Roethlisberger to Wallace. Ben finished the half with 181 yards passing on just 11 completions.

The Jaguars got on the board when Josh Scobee connected on a 46 yarder to make it 17-3. Pittsburgh responded to the Jacksonville points with a quick drive down to the Jacksonville 28. The drive was set up by another big 48 yard pass from Roethlisberger to Wallace. Wallace beat Rashean Mathis and Ben dropped it right into his hands. He juggled it going to the ground but held on for the 48 yard completion. The drive would stall at the Jacksonville 28 and Shaun Suisham would miss wide left from 46 yards to keep the Steelers lead at 14.
