Ben Roethlisberger Injury Update: Leaves Reliant Stadium On Crutches And With Walking Boot On Left Foot

After a rough day in Houston, Big Ben is seen leaving the locker room on crutches and in a walking boot.

Ben Roethlisberger was spotted leaving Reliant Stadium in Houston on crutches and with a walking boot on his left foot. In addition to the walking boot, he had x-rays taken of his foot after the game but the results of those x-rays have yet to be confirmed.

Roethlisberger said he suffered the injury late in the game but that it did not happen on the final series, when JJ Watt hit him below the waist with a direct shot to his left knee, causing his body to bend back on top of his ankle and foot. Roethlisberger was knocked around all day by Mario Williams and a Texans defensive line that dominated a depleted Steelers offensive line.

Ben was unsure of his status or availability for the Steelers Week 5 game against the Tennessee TitansHe reiterated that he can play with a cast on the foot if necessary.

"If I can be out there I'm going to be out there. If I have to cast it up, we saw I had to do that last year, I cast up my foot for the last half of the year. If we have to do it, I'll do it."

It's likely that he will have an MRI on Monday.  The Steelers are already working with three new starters on their offensive line.  In addition, Rashard Mendenhall left the game in Houston on Sunday with a hamstring injury and did not return.

We will have more on the injury as the afternoon progresses.
