Week 7 NFL Predictions And Picks: Steelers Vs. Cardinals And More

Week 7 in the NFL offers some interesting match ups and a few tempting games with some huge lines.

Early Action:

Carolina Panthers (-3) vs. Washington Redskins: John Beck is starting for the Redskins and I have absolutely no faith in him whatsoever. The Panthers offense is explosive and can score points, so I'm going to go with Cam Newton and the Panthers to edge out the Redskins.

Cleveland Browns (-3) vs. Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks have trouble defensively and will be start Charlie Whitehurst at quarterback. Even with Tarvaris Jackson, the Seahawks struggle offensively. The Browns should be able to do enough offensively with Colt McCoy to beat the Seahawks.

Detroit Lions (-3.5) vs. Atlanta Falcons: The Lions just dropped a tough one to the 49ers, and lost Jahvid Best in the process. Their trade for Ronnie Brown also fell through, so they'll be a bit thin at running back. Matthew Stafford should be able to get his, along with Calvin Johnson. The Falcons are expected to try and pound the football against the Lions defense and they should be successful at it. Falcons win.

Denver Broncos (+2) Miami Dolphins: It's the Tim Tebow Appreciation Day game in Miami. While all the hype and story will be about Tebow's first start of 2011, I don't think the Broncos will have enough on offense to beat the Dolphins. The Broncos stink at stopping the run so we'll see a heavy dose of Daniel Thomas as the Dolphins spoil Tebow's 2011 debut and pick up their first win.

San Diego Chargers (-2) @ New York Jets: The Jets played a horrible first half of offense on Monday Night against a bad Dolphins team, but they won't be able to play that poor offensively against a team like the Chargers. It's a tough east coast trip for a Chargers team who also hasn't been playing all that well. You can run on the Jets however, and I expect the Chargers to do as much and win.

Chicago Bears (-1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Bears have problems protecting quarterback Jay Cutler and the Bucs have a problem of a lot of young talented defensive lineman. Even though the Bucs will be without LeGarrette Blount, as long as they don't kick to Devin Hester I think they'll have enough to win.

Houston Texans (+3) @ Tennessee Titans: A classic home 3 point line. The Titans are going to struggle on offense without Kenny Britt and will have to ride Chris Johnson, who hasn't been playing all that well. Even without Andre Johnson, Houston will take it.

Late Games:

Pittsburgh Steelers (-4) Arizona Cardinals: The line looks a bit low for this matchup, but the Steelers were 13 point favorites against the Jaguars last week and only won by four. Being on the road will effect the spread a bit, but I'd expect the Steelers to win this game rather easily.

Oakland Raiders (-4) vs. Kansas City: It looks like Carson Palmer is going to get his first start of 2011 after less than a week of practice. Even with that, the Raiders shouldn't have too much of a problem dispatching the Chiefs by just handing the ball off to Darren McFadden.

Dallas Cowboys (-13) vs. St. Louis Rams: This is a huge line I'm not sure the Cowboys will cover. I'd expect the Cowboys to win the game however, as DeMarcus Ware just might kill a hobbled Sam Bradford on the field.

Green Bay Packers (-9) @ Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings are starting a rookie quarterback on an offense that's been horrible. Do I need to say more?

Sunday Night

Indianapolis Colts (+14) New Orleans Saints: This line looks like easy money, but two touchdowns is a lot even for a bad Colts team. The Saints haven't been blowing out teams like you'd expect. The Saints should win the football game, however.

Monday Night Football

Baltimore Ravens (-8) @ Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jaguars are a team that's struggle offensively, scoring the least amount of points in the NFL. The Ravens have scored three times (literally) as many points and have arguably the best defense in the league. It could get ugly for Jacksonville and rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert.
