It appears the question of whether second-year Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey will start Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals has been answered by...Maurkice Pouncey. According to this NFL.com/Associated Press story, Pouncey has says he will indeed start:
His left elbow heavily wrapped after practice Friday, Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey says he's dealt with pain the past two days but will start Sunday at Arizona.
Pouncey, a Pro Bowler as a rookie last season, left practice early Thursday with the elbow injury. He has started all six games this season, but was forced to leave some games early with ankle and knee injuries.
This is welcome news for Pittsburgh, as they will already be without guard Doug Legursky Sunday, who also just happens to be Pouncey's backup at the center position. The Steelers will also be getting two offensive lineman back Sunday in left guard Chris Kemoeatu and rookie right tackle Marcus Gilbert.
