Titans Vs. Steelers: Pittsburgh Considers Signing Tristan Davis To Imitate Chris Johnson In Practice

Scott Brown tweets that the Steelers are having former Auburn running back Tristan Davis take a physical for them. The Steelers are currently banged up at running back, with both Rashard Mendenhall and Mewelde Moore dealing with injuries. But if the Steelers sign Davis, that wouldn’t be the reason why.

Steelers need someone to emulate Chris Johnson in practice this week, hence Davis visit.

Davis, 25, didn’t even play too terribly much at Auburn – he rushed for only 253 yards in his entire career and was really more of a kick return specialist. Don’t expect him to make much of an impact with the Steelers, if they even sign him.

Johnson has struggled so far this year, averaging only 2.9 yards per carry, but he had 101 yards in the Titans’ 31-13 win over the Browns this week.
