Titans Vs. Steelers: Hines Ward Touchdown Gives Steelers 28-3 Lead, But Offensive Line Problems Mount

Late in the third quarter, the Steelers have taken a 28-3 lead on the Tennessee Titans after a great move for a touchdown by Hines Ward. Ward caught the ball at about the three yard line and then, in almost the same motion, cut back and then leapt to dodge a Titans defender, landing in the end zone.

The touchdown gave Ben Roethlisberger four for the game.

Unfortunately, injury issues continue for the Steelers’ offensive line. Marcus Gilbert hurt himself earlier in the game and was replaced by Jonathan Scott, and now it appears Maurkice Pouncey is hurt as well, with knee problems. Doug Legursky will probably replace him at center, with Trai Essex taking Legursky’s place. The offensive line could mostly play fine today, but if Pouncey and Gilbert are out for any sustained period of time, the line should continue to be a problem.
