Fresh off their bye week, the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3) and their banged-up quarterback head to Kansas City for a Sunday night showdown against the Chiefs (4-6). Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger broke his thumb in the team's 23-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on November 13, but he is expected to play against Kansas City, possibly wearing a splint under his glove.
The Chiefs lost their starting quarterback Matt Cassell for the year to a hand injury, and started Tyler Palko in a 34-3 loss to the New England Patriots last week. Palko is still expected to start against the Steelers, though Kansas City did claim former Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton this week off waivers.
Interesting bye fact: The Steelers have won their last three games coming off a week's rest by 21.3 points.
