Hines Ward Injury: Pittsburgh Steelers' WR Knocked Out By Ray Lewis Hit

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward suffered an apparent head injury against the Baltimore Ravens after a head to head collision with Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis. Ward went to the ground after the hit and dropped the ball. He was sandwiched between Lewis and another tackler when he caught the ball on a crossing route. Video of the play where the injury occurred is below.

There is no indication if Ward will return, but he was taken off the field and has not yet returned. He is currently standing on the sideline watching the game without his helmet on.

This is a big blow to the Steelers, as Ward is one of QB Ben Roethlisberger's most trusted receivers, but also as wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Arnaz Battle are not currently available. Sanders is inactive after having to deal with family matters and Battle is experiencing injury problems as well.
