The Pittsburgh Steelers have a very difficult opponent this week in the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, and it could be made even more challenging if the Steelers will in face be without James Harrison, who was suspended by the NFL for his hit on Colt McCoy last Thursday. According to Josina Anderson, Harrison will appeal that suspension with the NFL and the hearing will be this afternoon via telephone.
There really isn't a good way to know how this appeal will go because Harrison is the first player to be suspended for a tackle in a while. But based on Roger Goodell's history, and James Harrison's reputation as a dirty player, I wouldn't expect the league to shorten his suspension any. But we'll have to wait until this afternoon to know for sure.
