2012 NFL Draft: Steelers Would Pick 29th If Season Ended Monday

The Pittsburgh Steelers picked up their tenth win of the season on Thursday night with a 14-3 defeat of the Cleveland Browns. The win pushed the Steelers' potential draft pick down a few spots and it could fall further with a win over the San Francisco 49ers, it could push it down further. If the 2011 NFL season ended today, the Steelers would have the No. 29 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Picking this late is nothing new for the Steelers recently.

The big areas for the Steelers entering the draft are on the offensive line, nose tackle position, linebacker, and potentially a safety. The current SB Nation 2012 NFL Mock Draft has the Steelers looking to bolster their protection of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

29. Pittsburgh Steelers - Cordy Glenn, OL, Georgia
Pittsburgh could use an upgrade on their offensive line, particularly on the outside. Glenn's power fits nicely on the right side, and his wide body would help reroute pass rushers.

Someone like Glenn would immediately bolster the Steelers offensive line. Someone like Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict could also be a person of interest here, to fit in at the inside linebacker position. While Burfict is a bit of a hothead, he seems to fit right in as a Pittsburgh Steeler.
