Rashard Mendenhall Fantasy Projection: Without Big Ben, Expect Big Things From Pittsburgh RB

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without quarterback Ben Roethilsberger on Sunday when they face the St. Louis Rams, but not to worry Steelers fans, that just means a huge day is in store for running back Rashard Mendenhall.

With Charlie Batch under center, Pittsburgh will likely stick to a conservative passing game and drely on the legs of Mendenhall against a woeful Rams rush defense. St. Louis is dead last in the league, allowing teams to steamroll them for 153.4 yards per game on the ground.

The fantasy football projection site numberFire ranks Mendenhall as the 7th best option at running back this weekend. The Pittsburgh RB's projected stats: 18.35 car, 83.28 yds, 1.49 rec for 13.35 yds, 0.69 TDs for 13.65 points.

For the season, Mendenhall has 202 carries for 774 yards and eight touchdowns. He has also caught 16 balls out of the backfield for 112 yards.
