NFL Draft 2012: New Mock Has Steelers Taking Kelechi Osemele

Dane Brugler's latest 2012 NFL mock draft for CBSSports.com features what has become a pretty traditional top six: Andrew Luck, Matt Kalil, Morris Claiborne, Robert Griffin III, Justin Blackmon and Trent Richardson. The only local player is Penn State's Devon Still, who goes at No. 17 to the Tennessee Titans. (West Virginia's Bruce Irvin has been popping up at the bottom of some mock drafts recently, but he isn't represented here.)

Brugler has the Steelers taking Iowa State guard Kelechi Osemele. A guard would, of course, be a very good pick in terms of need. Here's Mocking The Draft's scouting report on Osemele from back in May. He was a All-Big 12 first-teamer this year, and will play in the Senior Bowl. He doesn't usually appear in first rounds of mock drafts and is often seen as a second-rounder, but that doesn't necessarily mean much at this stage.

Obviously, it's very early, the Steelers often don't draft for need in the first round, and so on, but Osemele is probably worth keeping an eye on.
