With the fantasy playoff season heating up, Ben Roethlisberger owners had to hold their breath on Thursday night when it appeared the Steelers' quarterback sustained a serious ankle injury in the middle of the second quarter. But Big Ben would return in the second half and with a late assist from wideout Antonio Brown, would boost his numbers significantly.
Roethlisberger finished 17-for-22 for 280 yards and two touchdowns. With a little over three minutes remaining, the Steelers quarterback hit Antonio Brown on his back shoulder, and Brown flew down the sideline for a 79-yard touchdown. On the negative side, he did have one interception in the fourth quarter.
Big Ben has a high ankle sprain, which is typically a multi-week nagging injury. The Steelers, however, have a long week off before a Monday night matchup with San Francisco in Week 15. And considering he's already playing with a broken thumb on his throwing hand, it's likely that Roethlisberger owners are undeterred.
