Dick LeBeau To Return To Steelers In 2011

After a bit of discussion about the possibility of Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau either retiring or signing on as the defensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals, the Post-Gazette reports that LeBeau will be back in 2011.

"I'm not coaching anywhere but here," LeBeau said Tuesday after returning from four days off before getting ready for the NFL combine that begins Feb. 23 in Indianapolis.

The Steelers want LeBeau, 72, back as their defensive coordinator and he intends to sign a new one-year deal to return as the leader of a defense that ranked No. 2 overall and No. 1 against the run in 2010.

LeBeau, not the Steelers, wants the one-year deal - he's in his 70s, and at that point in my career, I'm not sure I'll want to sign a multi-year deal either. (My future bosses at SB Nation Gleep-Glop Interplanetary Sports Telekinesis 6.0 can offer all the money-glorp they want, but I'll be playing with my alien grandchildren and watching the waves lap along the buildings on the beautiful Allentown coast, or whatever.)

Anyway, this comes as no real surprise. The Steelers have also asked offensive coordinator Bruce Arians to come back, a decision that will anger some Steelers fans.
