Chuck Cecil Will Interview To Be Steelers' Secondary Coach

Chuck Cecil will interview to be the Steelers' secondary coach. Cecil spent the last three seasons as the defensive coordinator of the Titans, and was not retained after this season, in which the Titans finished 26th in the NFL in yards allowed. (To be fair, the Titans' offense was really bad, which kept the defense constantly on the field, although some Titans fans and even at least one player thought Cecil was out of his league.) Before that, Cecil served as the Titans' defensive backs coach in 2007 and 2008.

The Steelers need a new defensive backs coach after Ray Horton departed to become the Cardinals' defensive coordinator. Cecil seems like an experienced candidate, and for fans, he offers the extra bonus of potentially being entertaining. He'd face a challenge as the secondary coach of the Steelers, who lack depth at cornerback, but he'd get to work under a great defensive coordinator in Dick LeBeau.
