Hines Ward To Return In 2012 After 2011 Super Bowl Disappointment

Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward will be back in 2012 after last night's disappointment in the Super Bowl, the Trib reports. Ward had 78 receiving yards and a touchdown, but the Steelers still came up short.

"I’ll be back," Ward said after the Steelers’ 31-25 loss to the Green Bay in Super Bowl XLV. "I’m not going anywhere" ...

"I had a feeling we were going to do it again," Ward said of another late Steelers comeback. "But we should have never been in that situation. We felt like whoever had the ball last was going to win the game. We just came up short and hats off to (the) Green Bay Packers."

There had been some speculation that Ward would retire if the Steelers won, much as Jerome Bettis did a few years back. Ward looks like he's pretty clearly in the decline phase of his career. With Mike Wallace emerging as a star, it will be interesting to see how Mike Tomlin handles playing time between Ward, Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown next year.
