NFL Draft: Pitt Players Visit Steelers

Seven potential NFL Draft prospects from Pitt stopped by to meet with the Steelers' Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert today:

The players were wide receiver Jon Baldwin, defensive ends Jabaal Sheard and Greg Romeus, fullback Henry Hynoski, running back Dion Lewis, offensive tackle Jason Pinkston and safety Dom DiCicco.

Because Pitt is a local team, those players do not count against the 30 prospects the Steelers are allowed to bring in before the draft.

Baldwin won't be taken by the Steelers, who have considerable depth at wide receiver and likely won't take another one, if they take one at all, until well after Baldwin goes off the board in either the first or second round. I suppose any of the other players could be possible, though, depending on how long they last. Sheard would be a good value for the Steelers at the end of the second round if he's still available then, and the Steelers do need defensive linemen, but a number of sources like Sheard better as an outside linebacker in the NFL.
