NFL Mock Draft 2011: New Mock Has Steelers Taking J.J. Watt

Russ Lande of the Sporting News has a new NFL Mock Draft up at his own website, and it's definitely an unconventional one. Cam Newton goes to the Carolina Panthers first overall - nothing crazy about that. But then he has offensive lineman Anthony Castonzo going all the way up at No. 5 (to the Cardinals) and quarterback Ryan Mallett going at No. 7 overall.

The Chiefs take Pitt DE Jabaal Sheard at No. 21 overall. Slipping all the way to the Steelers at No. 31 is Wisconsin DE J.J. Watt. Lande seems to like Watt a lot less than a lot of mock draft gurus do, as most of the ones I've seen have him going in the middle of the first round. If he does fall all the way to the Steelers, he would make a lot of sense for them - cornerback is a more pressing need, and the offensive line arguably is too, but Watt would be a great value for the pick, and the Steelers do need more youth on their defensive line.
